Animals such as ducks, otters, and others who are able to dive underwater, fly, or crawl underground, have in many cultures been interpreted as messengers or travellers between worlds. I am not superstitious of any kind, but the idea of going under a rocks' surface, and seeing a whole new world of spirits and unknown creatures is highly intriguing and inspiring.
